We finally did it! Soon we will toss our red and white caps into the air. marking the
end of an incredible beginning and the start of an unimaginable future.

While your lives will take you to different ends of the earth, always remember you
began here. As you set out to find your destiny carry this with you: never settle for
less than your dreams and never be afraid to try. Though you may fail there is no
other way to succeed. Keep your feet grounded and never stop reaching for the
stars.

Though the days go by quickly the memories you 've made and the laughs that
you 've shared are the essence of life. Before you set out to discover your new life, let

Football

The 2005 Hingham High School Football was unforgettable for
both the team and their many devoted fans. Coaches Killinger,
Perkins, Langill, Kelliner, and Serrento led the team to five
shutouts, and with an overall record of 9-2, the Harbormen
marked the end of their season with a 19-0 victory over
Scituate on Thanksgiving Day. Captains Mike Battaglia, Mike
Perkins, and Charlie Hovsepian, along with their fellow players
from the Class of '06 finish with an overall record of 31-5, but
call this season "the highlight" of their four years on the team.

Football Cheerleading

This year's Hingham Cheerleaders were unparalleled in their devotion
and skill. As one student put it, "I really dig the cheerleader's awe-
inspiring performance at the pep rallies"- and no wonder. With their
devoted coaches, Natalie Allen and Leah Dunay, they practiced after
school for long hours in order to gain the confidence, the nerve, the
sheer courage to stand up before the student body and shake their tail
feathers. Go red. Go white. Yeah Hingham.

Field Hockey captains Caitryn McCallum, Ellen
O'Dea, and Kim Shorey, along with coaches
Gordon, Bonner, and Joyal, led the team to a fina
record of 12-5-3. The team also received
numerous awards for their skill and attitude.
Caitryn McCallum, Tori Popp, and junior Lauren
Pastuszak were part of an elite group who were
named All Stars, with Kim Shorey and Sarah
Brown receiving honorable mention. Molly
Molly Bittrolff Walker followed suit, earning the

team's Sportsmanship Award.

These cross country boys keep

season since freshmen year, senior
captains Peter Fiascone and Pat

led their team to a 7-2 record, earning

Girls Cross Country

Led by senior captains Hope Rathnam, Jocelyn Traina,
and Hannah Lincoln and coached by Mrs. Kates, the
girl's cross country team ran away with the Patriot
League title. The squad was powered by an outstanding
season of performances from junior Tina Meade and a
strong freshman class. Here's to long rungs, World's
End, lungs, Dr. Ryan, and a first-time undefeated season
in the history of Hingham girl's XC.

j'Hingham High School's boy's soccer team turned many heads in their
\2005 season. Finishing as South Sectional Division Two Champions,
captains Joe Albert, Nick Jones, and Jay Wilson led their team to a
record breaking season with a final count of 17-0-1, the best season
in Hingham High School history. Head coach Ken Carlin, later named
"Coach of the Year" by Eastern Mass State Coaches Association,
successfully taught the boys good sportsmanship after their gut-
wrenching, season ending loss to Stoneham in double overtime.

Girl's soccer had a great season and a lot of fun this
all. With an overall record of 7-8-2, captains Emily
')ulman, Erin McNichols, and Maggie Karoff, along
vith the rest of the seniors, and new coach Chris
Vhite, left their mark on the high school this fall. A

The Hingham High Golf team put yet another great season under their
belt this year. The team finished with a record of 14-3, which gave them
the title of the 2005 Patriot League Champions. Captains Pat Cadigan
and John Connelly led the team with heavy contribution from Justin Wulf,
Scott Young, and Nick Caruso. The team worked extremely well
together and found themselves competing once again at the Division II
South Sectionals. Wulf was the medalist for the team shooting a 78, but
the team was upset and fell one spot short of making it on to the state
tournament. The harbormen are looking forward to another great year
with a lot of returning golfers.

Irhe volleyball team completed an enjoyable season under coach Meg
;D'Donnell this fall. The girls gained valuable expenence in the game
ivhich will serve them v^eW in future seasons. More importantly, the
,eam, made up of students from all grade levels and diverse interest
groups, really bonded and came together through their efforts to build
;pirit- making t-shirts, tie dying socks, and riding together to games all
)ver the state-- and create unlikely friendships. We v/ish this nev^/

Winter Sports

Boys' Basketball

Led by coach Jon Rice and captains John
Connelly and Neil Crehan the 05 -06 Hingham
High boys basketball team ended its season with
a 14 -8 record. The sesaon was marked with
many firsts for the Harbormen. For the first time
in over a decade the team won over Rockland in
their home gym. They also had the most regular
season wins in over a decade. The Harbormen
topped off their season by winning a history-
making state tounament game on the road.

This year's girls' basketball team was
even more extraordinary than usual,
ending with a 12-6 record and a trip to
the first round of the state tournament.
With captains Hayley Wells and Jackie
Burke blazing the road to glory, they also
highlighted the season with an upset of
previously undefeated Duxbury and
coming back from a 17 point deficit to
defeat Ursulinein the Framingham
Tournament. The team looks forward to
next year when an experienced lineup
should lead to another great season!

Gymnastics

The HHS gymnastics team had a great season led by their
exceptional captains and coaches. Hope Rathnam and
Kelly Ryan made a powerhouse leadership team for the
second year in a row, whipping their gymnasts into shape
with intense conditioning and running. Through the
coaching of Jayne Schlieff and Mallory Brady (former team
captain '03), the team increased their scores throughout
the season, ending with a win against Randolph Milton.
They will always remember the bus rides, braids, and after-
meet cookies.

Hingham High Boys' Varsity hockey has continued
their path of success for yet another year. With an
astounding record of 14-2-1, the Harbormen are
seeking their fifth consecutive Division 1A
Tournament invitation. Led by senior co-captains
Ty IVIcDonald and Mike perkens, the team prides
itself on strong defense and excellent offense.
Coaches Garrett Reagan, Tony Messina, Rick
Schuhwerk and Andy Marhoffer have coached the
team to some big wins over St. John's Prep,
Weymouth and Duxbury (twice). Hingham hopes
to continue its winning ways in the Super 8.

Girls Hockey

Girls' Hockey moved into its second year at
HHS, coached by Tom Findley and
captained by Erin McNichols. The team
beat their rivals Duxbury twice during the
season, which the players and fans
enjoyed. The real highlight of the season,
however, was that the team qualified for the
state tournament. Pretty impressive for
such a young program- way to go girls!

Winter Sports

This years Ski Team was led by PJ Johnson,
Joe Glennon and Jenny Kahane. The girls
overall came in first and the boys managed
to come in third. Every Friday night before a
race the team prepared themselfs with a
pasta dinner. The two hour bus ride was an
adventure in itself.

Swimming

In their second year and first season as a solo team, Hingham
swimmers proved themselves more than capable of succeeding on
their own. Perhaps the most telling of the enthusiasm and growing
support for the swim team were the numbers- a team of fifty. This year
Hingham was a major presence in the league. The girls' team made an
impressive showing with an overall record of 4-4. Sectional qualifiers
included Alden Bush, Kelly Collins and Lindsay Ranahan., who, along
with Sophie Lammers, boasted the number one ranked relay team in
the league . The boys' team also had a great season with an overall
record of 2-6. Much of the boys' enthusiasm was attributed to the
strong group of freshmen who joined the seasoned senior
swimmers. The team wishes best of luck to its graduating seniors, led
by captains Ryan Kennedy, Maren Handorf, Jeff Meyer and Carolyn
Trogele. Thaks to coaches Brenda Burke and Matt Caminiti for all their
hard work!

It was a record-setting year for the
Harbormen Track Team. Setting the pace
were seniors Sean Fitzmaurice, Billy
Monahan and Pat Phelan , all of whom
achieved Senior League All-Star Status.
Team efforts led to an undefeated season in
the Patriot League, where they captured the
championship title. They concluded their all
star season by winning the State Division III
title and setting more records than any
Hingham track team in recent memory.

Girls Indoor Track

This winter, the Girls' Indoor Track Team made history by
becoming Hingham's first Division III State Champions! Led by
Senior Captains Jocelyn Traina, CaitHn Marquis, Ellen O'Dea, and
Sam Lussier, the team finished 8-0 to become undisputed Patriot
League Champions. Impressive individual performances included
those of Patriot League All-Stars Jocelyn Traina, Caidin Marquis,
Senior Christi Lumbert, Juniors Christina Meade and Abbey
Glenzel, and Freshman Shauna McNiflf. We'll never forget the
good times: "weekend meet mode," synchronized hallway running,
caroling downtown, "Stop Pre," pimp chains, sprinter bonding, the
hurdle stopwatch. Like a Prayer, pasta dinners, and our Valentine's
Day meet. Congratulations to everyone for a wonderful season!

The strength, the determination, the will to win. The
Hingham Harborman had an outstanding season as
they worked to take down their opponents one match
at a time. The Harbormen held a 4-3 record in the
Patriot League. Seven Harbormen qualifed to
compete at the state tournament, where Seniors
Jason Nelson and Mike Riley earned Championship
Titles.

Hlngham High's Amnesty International chapter has a lot
to be proud of. This year, they led several successful
campaigns including World Aids Day and No Blood for
Diamonds. Advisor Ms. Roth and President Sasha
Williams led the group in letter-writing campaigns,
movie nights and field trips, including a regional
conference in Boston and the annual Get On The Bus
human rights rally in New York City.

League

The Anti-Defamataion League, better known as ADL,
strives to educate students at all grade levels in matters
of diversityand tolerance of all races, gender, creeds, and
personal preferences. Sponsors Fred Jewitt and Erin
Krall, along with president Lisette Worster, train teams of
junior and senior peer facilitators who work directly
withsophomore and freshman classes. ADL also
sponsors several school-wide programs each year
promoting awareness and prevention of racism, abusive
relationships and hazing, and by doing so, helps make
HHS a safer happier place. Below: scenes from the

nderstanding and tolerance. Discussion-based meetings, conducted

ay teens face in coming out by celebrating National Coming Out Day
1 October. Members encouraged classmates to sign a pledge of
nconditional love towards friends, regardless of sexual preferences,
nd it was a great success. Members also participated in the Boston
'ride March, the BAGLY Prom, and a candlelight vigil held by South
;hore Civil Marriage For All.

The HHS Concert Band enjoyed an eventful year,
performing their final season under the direction of Mr.
Douglas Wauchope. After 1 2 years with the Hingham
Public Schools, Mr. Wauchope moves into retirement,
capping his career with the autumn performance of his
own composition, Pictures atari Exhibition, inspired by
the artwork of HHS. Other notable moments in the year
included the student-selected performances of the
themes from "Final Fantasy Vll" and "Schindler's List" and
a trip to Chicago.

This year has been one of the biology club's most
successful. In cooperation with the oceanography club,
the members went on an amazing trip to Costa Rica over
April vacation, where they visited the Gandoca Manzanillo
Wildlife Refuge, the Arenal Volcano, and the Tabacon Hot
Springs. Led by biology teacher Mrs. Duffy, the club was
urged to explore the wilderness around them. And back
in Hingham, as always, students were encouraged to
bring in any animal or plant that they found, any time of the
year.

In addition to the Costa Rica trip, the oceanography club
organized many other extracurricular activities. Under the
supervision of Mr. Gauthier, kids dissected dogfish
sharks after school. Itwasa messyjob, but some were

on whale watches in Boston Harbor.

Under the leadership of President Sara
Gassert, Vice President Chris Burke, treasurer;^

rep. Michael O'Neill, the chorus has led yet
another successful and productive year. As a
highlight, the chorus took their annual trip in
April, this year performing in Chicago. Under
the management of newcomer Mr. Young, the
group practiced and performed a wide variety
of pieces. Among the smaller choral groups
were the men's and women's choruses as well
as a choral spectrum group.

The Drama Club is a unique organization in which
everyone is welcome to participate. Led by IVIr. Higgins
the Drama Club reaches across both classes and after
school activities. The club this year featured three plays;
Guys and Dolls, Cut, and A Midsummer Night's Dream -
not to mention the classroom and senior one-acts. The
club also participates in an improv troop. Student leaders
to the club include Liz Szyman and Joe Gianoni as co-
presidents, Jacob Dankner, treasurer, and Dan Gifford,
secretary with significant participation by Mike Campbell,
Sara Gassert, Andy Ryan, Graeme Butler. Whether you
are interested in being behind the scenes or on stage the
Drama Club has a place for everyone.

The HHS debate team, in only its
secondyear,competely dominated the
competition. With the guidance of Karen Shaw,
seniors Alex Corey, Rob Lee, and Carrie
Edmundson, and some delicious Indian food,
Hingham sucessfully argued this year's
resolution that the United States' Federal
Government sould decrease its authority either
to detain without charge of search without
probable cause.. Varsity team of Sean, Carrie,
Sam, and Max tood 2nd overall while Alex, Rob,
Adrian and Bush took 3rd. Hingham varsity was
wel represented in speaking points as well as
taking 1st, 2nd and 4th overall. The novice
teams did exceptionally well this year with four -
person teams taking 1st ,2nd,4th and 6th.
Novice speakers took 9 of the top 20 places.

This year's French club has been
tres interessant. Supervised by
Madame Keyes, the club enjoyed
not only fine cheeses (camembert,
brie, gruyere, etc.) but also the
magic of theater, attending a
preformance of "Les Miserables" in
Boston this spring. They are also
putting together groundwork for an
upcoming trip to Paris.

Harborlight

It has been quite a year for the motley crew of the Harborlight.
Run by editors Hannah Lincoln, Maura McCormack and Chris
Burke, the newspaper has undergone many changes from its
previous look and reputation. Over the course of a few months, a
small group of individuals researched major newspapers, sent out
letters, and scoured the school for reporters. The result of their
hard work and multiple stay-until-the-janitor-kicks-us-out nights is
the newspaper that arrives bimonthly on every student's doorstep
-the Hingham Harborlight.

Interact Club

tBasedon ideals of community service, Interact was
^established at HHS in the Spring of 2004. Advised by
•Susan Joyal, the students of interact participated in
■diverse service projects in their second year. They began
•ithe year by teaming up with Volunteer Club to initiate
project backpack, benefitting victims of Katrina. At
holiday time they took part in the Giving Tree, a project
sponsored by the Wellspring Organization, buying and
donating gifts for children based on their wishlists. In
spring they took part in the Fairy Godmother Project,
bringing prom supplies to those who have difficulty
obtaining them.

Intergenerational
Club

Intergenerational club is made up of high school students and senior
citizens working together to help the community. President Erica
Lindberg, vice president Cori MacDonald, and advisor Rebecca
Milbury organize students to work primarily with the Hingham Senior
Center. Highlights of this year included the Fall Coat Drive, during
which students joined members of the senior center to pack coats for
the needy and enjoyed dinner together. In the spring they sponsored a
tea with the senior center.

The Latin Club is active through most of the year
with film parties, celebrations and chariot racing.
Club sponsors Doug Ryan and Cathy
Codyannis work with students to organize these
activities, latin film nights include such works as
"Gladiator," "Spartacus," and "Jason and the
Argonauts." During the holidays the club
celebrates the traditional Roman festival of
Saturnalia with a Yankee Swap, and in spring,
club members build and race their own chariots.
Everyone in Latin Club wants to win the laurel
wreath crown.

Math Team

The Math Team at HHS consists of students from all four
classes. This year they were led by senior captain Gillian
Riggs along with faculty advisor Peter Healy. This diverse
group came together through their love for math. The
team competed in the topics of arithmetic, geometry,
algebra I and II, trigonometry and advanced algebra
topics. The competitions took place on the first Thursdays
of November, December, January and Febuary. The team
members were always ready with their calculators to solve
any problem. After all the work was done the team always
celebrated with pizza! Way to go Math Team!

UN Committee. With James Kirkcaldy as
jdvisor, presidents Hillary Meahl, Erica
Jndberg and Emily Grebenstein led a
successful four day field trip to the 53rd
jession of Harvard Model UN. Delegates
vorked diligently on issues ranging from AIDS
orevention to nuclear disarmament to honor
cillings all while battling the snowy weather of

Clubs&Activities

The Hingham High chapter of the Nationa Honor Society, led by
advisor Lisa Audet and officers Meaghan Jennings, Emily
Johnston, Sean Fitzmaurice and Walt O'Donnell, worked hard
this year to fundraise and give back to the community.
Members of the club have to prove a high level of academic
success and integrity as well as leadership skills and devotion
to public service. This year, the club worked in settings ranging
from soup kitchens, where they served food, to the public library,
where they tutored other students in major subjects. The club
also received recognition this year from the Hingham Education
Foundation for their fundraising efforts, which allows the HEF to
continue to fund projects within the schools. In this way, NHS
helps ensure its own future and the future of all HHS students.

with the staff accepting submissions into the spring,
with the magazine appearing to the public during the
last week for seniors. The magazine features the
most innovative contributions from the artistic side of
HHS.

SADD

This year Hingham High's SADD club was very productive.
Expanding on last year's peer facilitation program, they
A^orked with freshmen and sophomore gym classes and went
;o the middle school to facilitate health classes. The advisors
his year were Ms. Campbell and Mrs. Marvel. The club's
)resident, Meghan Carbone, and VP Erica Lindberg worked
vith the club to design and order lanyards to sell to high school
;tudents. After many fundraising events, enough money was
nade to purchase them. This has been one of the largest

Senior Video

Senior Video is both a club and a class.
Throughout the year, seniors collect video
footage of major school events and sports
team competitions and their early years at
HHS. In January, these seniors begin the
process of designing and editing a video that
willhiglight their four years at Hingham High
School. The video also includes clips from
their Senior Prom, Graduation, and Senior
Night.

Student Council

The 2005-2006 Student Council has had one of its best
years yet. Under the leadership of President Liz
Sanderson, Vice President Jill Guihan, Treasurer Meaghan
Jennings, Historian Sam Lussier and of course advisor
Ms. Moore, the "StuCo" underwent many positive changes.
The council changed to an "open" council, allowing an
unlimited number of members to join. This change made
the Student Council the largest organization in the high
school. Back in September, their first big project was
hosting the Freshman Orientation. It was a huge success
and a great way to start off the year. Their next success
came when they sold out the Lip Sync contest and
doubled their profits from all previous years. Although it
was tough getting up early for their 7 o'clock meetings, the
all you can eat pizza at Papa Gino's made it worthwhile.

The six different committees all worked very hard over the
course of the year. The Spirit committee put on great pep
rallies and one of the best Spirit weeks Hingham has ever
seen. The Faculty Appreciation committee met early every
Monday morning to congratulate the teacher of the week.
The Fundraising committee planned and organized big
fundraisers like the Lip Sync and Mr. Hingham High, as
well as the sale and delivery of the candy canes and crush
cans. The Community Service committee organized a
number of community service projects, from adopting an
African child named Geoffrey to the Student Council's large
donation to Hurricane Katrina relief.

Over the course of the year, the Student Council attended
many leadership conferences, the first being the SEMASC
Fall Conference at Marshfield High School. The Executive
Board attended Officershop at Holy Cross. Other StuCo
members also attended a roundtable at Stoughton High
School, a Lock-In at Middleboro, the SEMASC Spring
conference at Plymouth North and the MASC state
conference in Hyannis.

Volunteer Club

Volunteer Club has had a busy year, beginning with the
tragedy of Hurrican Katrina in September. Advisor Kara
Roth and President Ally DaSilva mustered the troops in
the face of this disaster, spearheading Project
Backpack, a drive to bring supplies to schoolchildren in
the New Orleans area. They followed this sucess with a
benefit concert, organized by Tucker Robinson and other
members of the freshman class, with proceeds going to
victims of Katrina. In addition to these endeavors.
Volunteer Club continues to work locally through their
longstanding partnerships, hosting the fall festival and
proms for Cardinal Cushing School and taking part in the
South Shore Relay for Life in May.

Itbung Democrats Club

Since its inception in the spring of 2005, the Young Democrats
have worked to raise political activism and awareness in the
student body. This year they expanded their numbers, hosted
movie nights and fundraisers, and built an ongoing relationship
with the town Democratic party. The highlight of their year was
hosting State Representative Garrett Bradley for a question
and answer session and reception. They then turned their
attention to helping kick off Sam Kelley's campaign for
Lieutenant Governor.

It all happens on Friday at 8:52 AM-
"Welcome to the Friday Show"- ten minutes
of entertaining videos that feature the talented
students and teachers of HHS. Students put
together videos that highlight their sports
teams' success, and videos that promote the
upcoming play or Mr. HHS contest. In
addition, the Friday show tackles local and
national issues. Every week, students get
together to plan out the next show. Next
they go out to conduct interviews and film.
Finally, they edit everything together into a 3
minute video. Some students get involved
just in being a weekly announcer for the
show. But by Friday AM, it's always time to
turn on your TV to watch "The Friday Show."

05-06 saw an explosion on the Hingham High
School music scene. Early in the year Coll it
Fall released their tirst CD and played at the
legendary Paradise Rock Club in Boston.
Later, the underclassmen produced
Permafrost Big Shambles, Light Shade and
Hat Trick. These bands organized a benefit fo
Kotrino's victims and reassured the students oi
HHS that great live music is never for away.
